So you don’t hear of anything and then two things come along at once!
Sophie Hoffmann is a FEDA qualified Pilates instructor and gives individual and group Pilates classes along the Costa del Sol.
She works with people of all ages, fitness levels and personal situations giving classes tailored to clients’ needs. As a mum she focuses on classes for pregnancy, post birth loosing the babyweight and Mother and Baby/Toddler groups.
Sophie started Mum and Baby/Toddler classes in Sotogrande as there is so little to do with little ones along that part of the coast and nothing for Mums unless they have childcare.
It’s a one hour class in the San Roque International School. The kids are in a special Pilates Playgroup in the next room with a member of the International School’s staff supervising them. They have great facilities, a really stimulating environment with lots of educational toys and a chance for them to play with new friends and new toys!
It really gives Mums peace of mind knowing thier little one(s) are right there being well cared for and allows her to focus on doing some effective Pilates training! It’s a great meeting place for Mums too.
The classes are on Tuesdays at 4pm and Thursdays at 11.30 and are available in English and Spanish
*New* Classes at Calpe Rowing Club, Gibraltar, Wednesdays 11am – 12pm
For more information call Sophie on 600 214 977 or email pilatesparati@gmail.com

I’d heard quite a lot about this park so I took the opportunity to go last week as the Grandparents were over for semana blanca. First things first, it is not the easiest of places to find, in fact we were lucky that we happened to stumble across it. My advice would be to head for the train station at MonteMar alta and then look out for the few signs that there are.
The park opens from 11am most days apart from Mondays where they only open from 5.30pm.
Once you get to the park there is a playground, sectioned off into 3 parts, the first part being for under 3’s the middle for over and the far side a bit of both really. Next to the playground is a tree that your little one can go and tie there unwanted dummies to when they are ready to say goodbye to them, which i thought was a nice idea as I know how hard it is to stop them using them.
In the centre of the park is a boating lake, unfortunately it was empty when we went, for cleaning and repainting but I can imagine how nice it is in warmer weather. The pathway that goes around the park is split into two, one for cyclists and the other for pedestrians, which is always a good idea to try and avoid any collisions!
There is a “Torre” at the far end of the park which has amazing views out to see, and of course the canons and passageways with lots of information about the history of the park.
All in all a pleasant couple of hours out if you are in the area, the park wasn’t as big as I imagined it to be but still enjoyable.
