Myself and a couple of friends are going along to the Benahavis Car boot sale, next Sunday 8th May.

We are going to be selling all our nearly new and good quality used baby and toddler things.  There will be all sorts there from everything you need to help decorate the nursery, blankets,baby sleeping bags to toys, clothes and nursing equipment.

Amongst other things I have two good as new moses baskets as well as a mothercare highchair and two fisheprice swings and rockers, my friends also have a lot of similar items as well as an abundance of beautiful baby clothes for boys and girls.

I am hoping the weather will be good but not too sunny and I also have the task of entertaining my kids whilst we are there and trying to stop them from wanting to buy everything from the other stalls!

We have now visited The Oak in Benamara, we went on a Sunday lunch time with a group of friends and there kids as we thought it would be a good place to have some nice food and let the kids run around and play without disturbing too many people.

The menu was quite small but I am presuming this is because it was a Sunday lunch so only catered for sunday lunches if you know what I mean?!  However the price was very reasonable it was 2 courses for 12.95€ and there was a choice of 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 deserts (these were 5€ each) and for the kids it was the same choice of mains but a smaller version and Ice cream for dessert and these were priced at 7.95€.

The food was served very efficiently and tasted good too, and the kids portions were decent as well.

The downside for me was the kids area, I am not sure it can really be classed as this as it is really a beer garden with an old crazy golf course around the outside but no clubs or balls available to play with.  The kids didn´t really have anything to do, they really need either a bouncy castle or a climbing frame and slide or at least the clubs and balls for the golf and also there wasn´t much shade for the kids either which was a shame.

I picked up this leaflet at the car boot sale in Benahavis on Sunday, so thought I would pass on the details.

I haven´t visited this restaurant/bar since it became The Oak, I did however when it was one of the previous names and if the outside space is the same then it is a great place to go for something to eat whilst the kids have somewhere safe and enclosed to play.

The Oak have 3 events happening over the next week or so but I have picked out the two that will be good for the kids

Thursday 21st April 11.00am – 7.00pm, Easter Fayre in aid of the Thomas Jonathan Appeal (5 year old with west syndrome)

There will  be all sorts of arts and crafts, fashions, vintage, children’s, health & beauty and live music.  International food and drink will be available

Easter Sunday – From 1pm – Easter lunch available with an easter egg hunt for the children including a fabulous prize for the winner

The Marvellous World of Magic, Alamar Teatro present “Tagomago” On Saturday 16th of April at 12:00hrs.  In the park “Torre Leoneras” in Benahavis. 

The park is in a great location, with a lake, playground and amazing surrounds, there is also the small amphitheatre there which will be great for the magic show.

There will be lots of magic tricks for the kids to get involved in as well as songs and games, all done in good humour.

Our friends at Galaxia our inviting you to go along over the Easter period for the best fum in the Galaxy!

With the nice weather seemingly upon us, mums and dads can have a rest on the large outdoor patio area while the kids run around and burn off all that extra Easter egg energy, also new for the summer will be a bbq menu available at weekend with 100% homemade beef burgers amongst other things.

Also a quick reminder to anyone wishing to sign up to the Galaxia summer camp, then do so soon as places are filling up, the camp runs from 27th June – 2nd Sept, there is a 15% discount for members.
